How We Don't Suck
-
Keep It Patient-First: Ditch the wait times and runarounds - our focus is on getting you the care you need, when you need it.
-
We Are Healthcare Providers - Not Sales People. We will never try to upsell you or recommend something just so we can make money. This is why our IV therapies don't have fancy (misleading) names and why we don't offer medication pickup.
-
Make Healthcare Hassle-Free: Easy booking, clear pricing, and zero hidden fees for cash pay patients. For our insured patients we do our best to make sure costs are clear and claims are submitted correctly by having the provider submit claims themselves, not an office person.
-
Blend the Best of Medicine: We combine traditional, integrative, and lifestyle-based care to help you feel and perform at your best and seek to treat the root causes of disease, not provide bandaids.
-
Empower You to Own Your Health: No more being left in the dark - we give you the knowledge, access and tools to take charge of your health with confidence.
-
Create a Healthier, Happier Community: We’re building a movement where healthcare actually works for people to live longer, healthier and happier lives - spending less time dealing with healthcare and more time doing the things they love.

What makes Performance Health different from traditional medical clinics? At Performance Health, we take an integrative and root-cause approach to healthcare. Instead of just treating symptoms, we seek to identify and treat underlying issues like lifestyle, genetics, environment, hormonal imbalances, nutrient deficiencies, and metabolic conditions. Most importantly, however - we seek to help people help reduce their risk of developing disease entirely through cautious prescribing, close monitoring and on time or early screening. We offer concierge level care with no membership fee this means: Your provider is not in a hurry. Your provider is almost never late. Your provider has the time to consider your individual history and needs, and act accordingly. Your provider gives you options. You have access to your provider for questions, not some MA. You explain yourself to one person, not the front office staff, then the back office staff then the provider. You have weekend and evening access to medical care. You have access to mobile medical care. You have the option of having a medical advocate who handles all of your scheduling, will attend appointments with you and will advocate on your behalf (see pricing for advocacy).

Do you offer primary care services?Yes. Our concierge primary care model allows patients to receive preventive, acute, and chronic care management without the limitations of a traditional insurance-based practice. Our patients appreciate longer appointments, personalized treatment plans, and direct access to their provider. We do not charge a membership fee and our providers take care of their own patients in all respects - requesting records, responding to messages, answering questions, calling pharmacies etc. In order to be able to manage the workload we do some things differently like: Every visit includes 1 "quick call" to ask questions about your care. These calls are strictly under 5 minutes. Additional quick calls have a small associated fee (see pricing) and any time a call goes over a certain timeframe it is escalated to a virtual visit (see pricing for timeframes). We do charge for records requests (see pricing page). This can be avoided if you gather your own records, again - this is because our providers manage the records requests which can be extremely time consuming. We have a zero tolerance policy for abuse of the system, or abuse of our providers. We have a very strict payment policy - payment is required before the appointment for mobile visits and after the visit for any unexpected charges (like medications or procedures).
-
Can I message my provider directly?Yes, but for HIPAA-compliant communication, we use Elation EHR for secure messaging. If you initiate a conversation through text, email, or social media, you acknowledge that these are not HIPAA-protected and grant us permission to respond.
-
Do you accept insurance?Yes, we are in the process of accepting insurance as an in-network provider for several insurance companies including Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Cigna, Humana and Aetna. We do not accept medicaid or medicare plans at this time. We are also highly sensitive to patients who would prefer to pay cash - whether they are uninsured or would just prefer not to use insurance. We provide clear and affordable pricing for all services. Cash pay can only be offered to individuals who are not insured by a plan that we accept.
-
What is integrative medicine, and how is it different from functional medicine?Integrative medicine combines traditional Western medicine with evidence-based holistic treatments, focusing on the whole person rather than just symptoms. Functional medicine takes it a step further by addressing biochemical individuality and root causes of disease. At Performance Health, we use both approaches to create a customized health plan tailored to each patient’s needs.

How does IV therapy work, and what are the benefits?Honestly there are few IV therapies that are effective for what they say they are effective for. You will see many fancy fun names like "beauty IV" and "longevity IV" and "focus IV" or "fat burner IV" - they are almost all placebo and lack long term safety data. We prioritize patient autonomy and safety, while we do list a few select IVs and additives on our price list - we are happy to provide you with anything that is considered safe (which is most of the foo foo stuff out there). Everyone is different and maybe something really works for you. IVs we provide include a proprietary hangover blend (based on the best data), vitamin C, glutathione, NAC, magnesium and Meyer's Cocktails.
-
Do you prescribe semaglutide for weight loss?Yes, but we take a root-cause approach to weight management. Instead of prescribing semaglutide or other GLP-1 medications as a first-line treatment, we assess metabolic health, hormone balance, nutrition, and lifestyle factors. If appropriate, we may combine medical weight loss therapies with personalized plans for sustainable results. Our weight loss program is the real deal - initial visit with blood work if you haven't had any recently, through lifestyle evaluation, diet and exercise planning that is totally unique to you. We also require check-ins every other week to make sure that you are staying on track. We are not your average "GLP and GO" type of setup, because it is not what is safest and it is most certainly not what is in most patient's best interest.
-
Will my information be kept confidential?Yes. Our program is 100% confidential and HIPAA-compliant. We do not report PED use to any organizations, employers, or insurance companies.
-
Does Performance Health prescribe anabolic steroids or SARMs?No. We do not prescribe or supply anabolic steroids, SARMs, or black-market PEDs. Our role is harm reduction—providing medical supervision, monitoring, and mitigation strategies to support individuals who choose to use these substances. We do collaborate with a local Naturopath who specializes in peptide therapy and is able to provide various legal options to people looking for performance enhancement. We do provide non-anabolic athlete support with some medications that have been showed to in limited studies to be safe and modestly effective for strength, hypertrophy and/or endurance.
-
What is the PED Harm Reduction Program at Performance Health? Our Performance-Enhancing Drug (PED) Harm Reduction Program is designed for individuals using or considering anabolic steroids, peptides, SARMs, or other performance-enhancing substances. Instead of judgment, we provide medical oversight, lab monitoring, and risk reduction strategies to optimize safety and minimize long-term health risks.
-
Why is harm reduction important for PED use? Many PED users rely on bro-science, online forums, or underground sources, leading to misuse, unsafe dosing, and unmonitored side effects. Our approach ensures: Regular lab work to monitor hormone levels, lipids, liver/kidney function, and cardiovascular risk. Education on safe administration, proper dosing, and stacking strategies. Guidance on PCT and post-cycle recovery to prevent endocrine crashes. Minimization of risks such as blood clotting, heart disease, and liver damage.
